This website provides public information about the FishScan project, aiming at developing a system for continuous and highly accurate remote monitoring of weight, growth and size distribution of fish in aquaculture enclosures. FishScan was initiated by the coordinating SME, Stovik Aqua AS, and funded the funding scheme "Research for SMEs" within the EU 7th Framework Programme.

Official start date of the project was June 1st, 2011. Project duration is 24 months.

Project Description

FishScan will develop a novel system for continuous and highly accurate monitoring of weight, growth and size distribution of fish for use within aquaculture enclosures, primarily sea cages. The aim is to achieve a higher accuracy and better usability than today’s systems.

Meetings & Events

Final Meeting in Kristiansund, Norway

The Final meeting in FishScan was held in Kristiansund, Norway 13th June 2013. The participation from project partners was good. The first part of the meeting was a FishScan demo at one of Leroy's industrial fish farms. The last part was held as a formal meeting and included final words from the Coordinator (Storvik Aqua AS) and Technical Manager (Fibula AS).

FishScan 20-month Management Board meeting, January 2013

A successful combined Management Board and technical meeting was held in Munich 24th January.

Several project partners attended the meeting. The latest project results were presented by the RTD's to the consortium, with positive response.
